Ensuring Access to Clean Water & Sanitation
Every day, hundreds of millions of people remain without access to an adequate source of drinking water, and 2.5 billion individuals in developing countries lack access to basic sanitation. Contaminated water causes illness and death. Lack of accessible water means women and children spend hours every day fetching water, time which could be spent in more productive uses, such as value-added work or schooling, not to mention the physical danger and increased psychological stress which come with daily searches for water.
This webcast explores initiatives that ensure healthy, accessible, and sustainable sources of water for the future, along with development of cross-sector programs to deliver sanitation solutions.
