Cheryl is a freelance photographer based in Washington, D.C. She specializes in conflict coverage and issues surrounding displaced people, with a focus on gender violence. Diaz Meyer’s work on the Rohingya Crisis was honored recently by the White House News Photographers Association with a sweep of the entire International Category in its annual photo contest.

Diaz Meyer won the 2004 Pulitzer Prize for Breaking News Photography with David Leeson for their images depicting the invasion and aftermath of the US-led war in Iraq during her tenure at The Dallas Morning News. Her work is published and exhibited worldwide.
