USAID, IBM and PYXERA Global: Corporate Volunteerism Abroad

With an official launch 2011 and a new website in May of this year, the Center of Excellence for International Corporate Volunteerism (CEICV) is a prime example of the power of coalition work in international development strategies.

Comprised of three actors—IBM, PYXERA Global, and USAID—the Center is the missing link in many international development projects.Companies sometimes volunteer in emerging markets without prior knowledge of customs or local stakeholders, and while NGOs do important work within communities, at times they lack adequate funding. CEICV solves both of those problems by serving as an interlocutor between the three.
