Welcome to our new Local Content Practice Leader!
PYXERA Global is proud to welcome Harry Pastuszek to our staff this week. Harry will join us as head of our Local Content Practice Area after six years with Bechtel, working most recently as Sustainable Development Manager for Bechtel’s Mining and Metals Business Unit based in Brisbane, Australia. Prior to joining Bechtel, Harry spent seven years working in a variety of roles in the Environment and Social Development Department of the International Finance Corporation.
Whether managing a grant to design and implement an SME development program for an IFC client company, or coordinating with Bechtel procurement and contracting staff in delivery of local content opportunities as part of construction, Harry has spent nearly 15 years seeking innovative ways for the private sector to contribute to sustainable international development. His roles at IFC and Bechtel have equipped him with a strong understanding of the different commercial drivers that influence parties at different stages of project delivery.
Harry is keen to explore approaches to improve the efficiency of local content programs through better alignment of incentives for the various parties engaged in the procurement and contracting process. He looks forward to applying lessons learned on projects spanning the globe – from mining in Peru, Guinea, and the Philippines to oil and gas in Angola and India, to agribusiness in Ecuador and Brazil.
His recruitment by PYXERA Global reflects our commitment to leveraging local content as a tool for international development and to further establishing PYXERA Global as an expert and thought leader in this space.
PYXERA Global welcomes Harry and looks forward to his excellent work advancing local content programming with our partners.
