About This Role

This role will function under the Systems and Learning Unit in our Program Department that will lead Pyxera Global’s impact evaluation to ensure robust measurement and effective communication of the results of our global social impact programs. Pyxera Global’s approach to measurement and evaluation is human-centered, growth-oriented, and iterative.

The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Manager plays a key technical and management role in the monitoring, evaluation, analytical, and knowledge management needs of our growing Program department to ensure quality and effectiveness of program implementation. The M&E Manager provides monitoring & evaluation guidance and support for internal program teams to develop and implement measurement and evaluation systems across the entire Program department. This role will work across a variety of client portfolios covering a wide range of project types, sectors, and geographies, and must be able to quickly get up to speed on new subject matter areas.

Working closely with the Systems & Learning team, the M&E Manager will apply their social impact evaluation and project management skills through exposure to and management of a variety of impact evaluation activities. The M&E Manager will also support department administration tasks (knowledge management, resource development), and training staff in M&E skills. The Manager will advise the Systems and Learning team on how best to visualize Pyxera Global’s data across the Programs department to glean insights for input to proposal and various initiatives in the organization.

The ideal candidate will be able to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously, take initiative in completing assignments, and provide high-quality measurement and evaluation support independently with close attention to detail.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to program teams by developing performance monitoring plans and results frameworks during program design and implementation.
  • Create monitoring, evaluation, and learning systems, processes, and tools.
  • Aid in measuring, analyzing, and reporting results.
  • Lead internal or outsourced program evaluations.
  • Perform a key role in workflow, management, and quality control of deliverables for the M&E team.
  • Management of M&E tasks and deliverables.
  • Provide M&E technical advice and support for both program and M&E staff.
  • Support staff members in setting up logical frameworks and stakeholder assessments.
  • Develop monitoring and evaluation tools for programs.
  • Develop indicators and designing surveys.
  • Build surveys data collection systems.
  • Conduct data collection, aggregation, and analysis.
  • Perform research, writing, and editing.
  • Develop reporting templates and instructions.
  • Perform data management and quality control.
  • Provide support, troubleshooting, and training to staff as it relates to M&E.
  • Take initiative to assist staff in all departments to learn from M&E and make data-driven decisions.

Requirements

  • US Citizen or Permanent US employment authorization required
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field with three to five years of relevant experience or a combination of the equivalent in education and/or experience
  • Advanced quantitative skills, including knowledge of both statistical programs and Excel.
  • Experience developing effective, accurate, and compelling data visualizations.
  • Excellent writing and analytical skills, with demonstrated ability to work in a virtual environment.
  • Experience in training and capacity building, and change-management.
  • Ability to manage diverse activities, meet deadlines, and flexibility to changing situations and priorities.
  • Demonstrated initiative, innovation, and ability to work independently and as a member of a team to coordinate and/or lead the efforts to effectively meet program/client needs.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated understanding of international development.
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently and as a member of a diverse, global team to lead efforts to effectively meet M&E needs.
  • Proficiency in survey and data analysis tools such as Qualtrics, Power BI, Salesforce, SharePoint, SPSS, Stata or other similar related data tools and systems.

 

Salary and Benefits:

  • The base salary for this position is $70,000- $80,000 with the potential of an annual performance bonus.

Note: This is a DC based position. Applicants are not required to live in DC, but should be able to work in our Washington, DC office at minimum of two days per week.
