Washington D.C. - HQ Positions

PYXERA Global seeks highly motivated undergraduate, graduate, or recent graduate interns to work 30-40 hours per week at our headquarters office in Washington, DC. This position offers interns the chance to experience and work across multiple job functions and with different divisions. This is an excellent opportunity for those who want to work at an international NGO with a focus on global engagement and corporate social responsibility.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in a fast-paced office environment, especially in a programmatic or administrative capacity. The intern must be detail-oriented, able to multi-task, and have strong written and communication skills.

KEY POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

The Intern is responsible for supporting the implementation and monitoring of a number of program activities. S/he is also responsible for assisting in business development activities, including monitoring opportunities across donor/client organizations, proposal preparation, attending events, and conducting research. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Assist Program Managers in supporting our field staff and programs
• Assist in financial backstopping, ensuring that budgets are on track and expenses are documented according to internal guidelines

PYXERA Global is seeking an experienced professional for a Program Manager position in its Enterprise and Community Development practice area focusing on agricultural development. This position requires a minimum of five years of experience in agricultural and/or community development program design and management, as well as experience in monitoring and evaluation of complex programs. KEY POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Program Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of PYXERA Global’s international programs and participates in business development globally.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Work with the program team to drive and deliver the strategic vision of the program(s), in alignment with departmental and organizational objectives.
  • Proactively manage farmer, agribusiness and community development program(s) so they are: on time, on budget, in compliance with the law, meet or exceed deliverables, and responsive to client and stakeholder needs.

Required:

  • Field experience and in-depth knowledge of rural livelihoods, agriculture (including agricultural best practices, engaging agripreneurs, post-harvest loss, agricultural value chains, and climate-smart agriculture), and community development.

PYXERA Global is seeking a Director of Information and Communications Technology (“ICT”) who can work to support the organization in meeting its mission through the utilization of available technologies. The Director of ICT will be responsible for managing PYXERA Global’s ICT needs, including responsibility for the Office 365-based knowledge portal management, growth and staff training; the supervision of its Managed Service Provider and other vendors; and coordination with the Executive Team to ensure alignment of ICT strategy with the organization’s overall long-term strategy.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  •  Prepare strategic and operational plans for the Information Communications Technology (ICT) department to ensure that all necessary ICT tools, processes and systems are in place to meet the requirements of the business and contribute to the achievement of short- and long-term goals of the Company.
  • Manage SharePoint development, utilization and improvement.
  • Manage and provide oversight for the implementation of an ICT security strategy and disaster recovery plan that minimizes the risk of data loss and breach of privacy of the Corporation’s information and that of its Prime Contractor and other managing agents.

Global Positions

PYXERA Global, an NGO based in Washington, D.C., will be managing an international corporate volunteer (global pro bono) program based in San Juan & Ponce, Puerto Rico, scheduled to take place in July of 2019. PYXERA Global is hiring a consultant currently residing in/around San Juan to provide project and logistical support to the selected team of corporate participants. The selected consultant’s main responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to, the following:

KEY ACTIVITIES

  • Project Development and Implementation:
  • Participate in conference calls with Washington-DC based team
    Conduct in-person, relationship-building meetings with key stakeholders who are employed by or affiliated with local health care partners based in and around San Juan & Ponce, Puerto Rico
  • Conduct additional meetings, as needed, with key stakeholders to outline program requirements and objectives
  • Maintain regular communication with key stakeholders to ensure understanding of the program, roles and responsibilities, and expectations at all stages of the program

PYXERA Global would like to hire a consultant currently residing in Lima to provide project and logistical support to the selected team of corporate volunteers from March through September 2019.
The selected consultant’s main responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to, the following:

ACTIVITIES

• Assist with the support of the local host organization and develop scopes of work (SOWs) reflecting the specific areas of intervention that the organizations solicit
• Facilitate meetings with potential host organization in English as needed during PYXERA Global staff scoping trip
• Participate in conference calls in English with corporate volunteers
• Coordinate the Welcome and Final Event(s) for volunteer groups and participating host organization
• Assist in procuring accommodations and transportation for volunteers in Lima as needed on arrival and for the duration of their stay
• Orient new corporate volunteers upon arrival in Lima
• Manage assignment, work, and travel logistics for volunteers while they are in Lima
• Act as the on-the-ground interface between PYXERA Global and local partners in Lima
• Act as a logistical and informational resource for volunteers and troubleshoot on problems they may face
• Correspond with PYXERA Global headquarters program staff and other stakeholders to assure satisfaction on the part of the volunteers and our partners
• Monitor and advise on security arrangements for volunteers when they are in Lima
• Participate in the regular evening meetings with corporate volunteers
• Prepare financial and final program reports

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

• Graduate degree in international relations, communications, project management, organizational development, NGO management, or related field
• Experience in project management and in leading multicultural groups
• Experience in international development, project management, or volunteer coordinating
• Currently residing in Lima, Peru
• Attention to detail and people-oriented
• Exposure and experience in the NGO sector a plus
• Native level Spanish and excellent proficiency in English
• Interest in Sustainable Development and Corporate Social Responsibility

PYXERA Global, an NGO based in Washington, D.C. will be managing a Global Pro Bono program in New Orleans, Louisiana, scheduled to take place from April to May 2019. PYXERA Global would like to hire a part-time seasoned consultant currently residing in the city of New Orleans to help with program management and provide project and logistical support to the selected team of corporate employees that will work on health development projects. The consulting period will take place from March through June of 2019 with a possibility of extension based on additional corporate programs.

ACTIVITIES

  • Orient new program participants upon arrival in New Orleans, Louisiana;
  • Serve as logistics coordinator and as an informational resource for corporate consultants and troubleshoot problems they may face;
  • Participate in weekly preparation phone calls with corporate team(s) as needed;
  • Coordinate Client Pre-Departure Orientation, Welcome and Final Events for corporate consultants and local client firms/organizations;
  • Correspond with PYXERA Global headquarters program staff and other stakeholders to assure satisfaction on the part of the corporate consultants and our partners;
  • Monitor and advise on security arrangements for corporate consultants when they are in New Orleans.
  • Capture and share success stories and lessons learned that strengthen PYXERA Global’s existing and planned programs with organizations, partners, and stakeholders through social media and other avenues as appropriate.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

Required:

  • Must be based in New Orleans, Louisiana and available during program time period;
  • College degree in international relations, communications, project management, organizational development, NGO management, or related field;
  • Experience in project management and in leading multicultural groups;
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience;
  • Experience working with cross cultural teams and/or skills-based volunteer programs;
  • Ability to multi-task and manage diverse tasks simultaneously;
  • Flexible and able to work in a team as well as individually with limited supervision;
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
  • Experience in virtual and in-person presentation skills;
  • Exceptional customer service, communication, and problem solving skills
  • Language proficiency in English
  • Ability to work in teams and alone, and demonstrated commitment to creating opportunities for improved livelihoods preferred.

SALARY

This is a part time consultant position with an estimate timeline of 4-5 months.  Pay is based on past experience and the type of work required for this position.

  • Coordinate the Welcome and Final Event(s) for volunteer groups and participating host clients
