We have two distinct practice areas: Global Pro Bono where we leverage the professional expertise of talented individuals within corporations as a win-win approach that builds capacity at the local level while meeting the strategic goals of our corporate partners; and Enterprise and Community Development, where we bring together diverse partners to achieve sustainable development outcomes by enhancing the inherent capabilities of local communities.  In addition, we have a robust advisory arm where we work with C-Suite and Sr. Leadership of corporations to help them develop integrated social impact strategies, oftentimes with business materiality, and in critical areas such as Circular Economy.

DISCRIPTION

We are seeking Board members with backgrounds in the corporate, government or nonprofit sectors, as well as those who have an interest in the organization’s mission as well as a desire to volunteer. Currently, our greatest needs are in the areas of finance, fund development, sustainability, circular economy, and law.

Board meetings are held four times per year, and members attend either in person or virtually. Further, Board members are expected to:

  • know the organization’s mission, policies, programs, and needs
  • faithfully read and understand the organization’s financial statements
  • leverage connections, networks, and resources to benefit the organization’s reputation, strengthen its partnerships, and secure the financial resources necessary to advance its mission
  • serve as active advocates and ambassadors for the organization
  • prepare for, attend, and conscientiously participate in board meetings; board members are expected to attend a majority per year
  • participate fully in one or more committees (Audit, Finance, or Leadership Development and Nominating Committee)
  • follow the organization’s bylaws, policies, and board resolutions
  • sign an annual conflict-of-interest disclosure and update it during the year if necessary, as well as disclose potential conflicts before meetings and actual conflicts during meetings
  • maintain confidentiality about all internal matters of the organization.

As the highest leadership body of the organization and to satisfy its fiduciary duties, the greater Board is responsible for:

  • validating the mission and purposes of the organization
  • selecting and evaluating the performance of the chief executive
  • overseeing strategic and organizational planning
  • ensuring strong fiduciary oversight and financial management including the approval of an annual budget
  • fundraising and resource development
  • monitoring the organization’s programs and services
  • enhancing the organization’s public image
  • assessing its own performance as the governing body of the organization

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Operations Coordinator handles all procurement processes, provides logistical support for global teams, and produces important project-related briefings across the organization. This position requires a strong focus on procurement processes, travel arrangements including air tickets, hotels, and visas; event management, negotiation and management of contracts with third parties, tracking of project budgets, monitoring of safety protocols post COVID-19, customer service to global teams, processing of financial reports and payments.

The ideal candidate will be someone who is detail and process-oriented with an interest in managing international logistics, procurement, financial processes, and contract negotiation & management. This person enjoys supporting and executing the administration side of projects, driving a process forward while remaining flexible and agile. Priority skills include strong attention to detail, ability to communicate clearly with a team, project and process management, procurement, event and travel management, and financial management.

The Operations Coordinator is responsible for the handling of operations across programs within PYXERA Global.

While this is a remote work position at present, there is an expectation of return to our Washington, DC-based office in early 2022.

KEY POSITION RESPONSIBILITES

  • Manage travel arrangements and program logistics for global teams . Travel arrangements include accommodations, air tickets, ground transportation, proper management of private data, event set up, catering, translation services, city tours, etc.
  • Provide customer service and guide global teams in booking air tickets and securing visas for their international assignments.
  • Monitor safety protocols for global program participants post COVID-19.
  • Budget logistical items and monitor expenses within a project.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with third party travel providers, including any type of formal partnerships and awards programs with them.
  • Design up-to-date project-specific logistics briefings.
  • Process relevant procurement forms.
  • Process financial reports and payments.
  • Maintain accurate program records in relevant databases and formats (i.e. Excel, Salesforce, SharePoint, etc.).

POSITION DESCRIPTION

PYXERA Global is seeking an experienced, analytical, forward thinking, and empathetic professional to provide thought leadership, business development, and program management oversight to corporate clients in the Global Pro Bono (GPB), or corporate skills-based consulting, practice area. The Senior Account Manager (Key Client Manager – KCM) is a leadership role within the organization and is responsible for overall advising, design, management, implementation, monitoring, reporting, communications, and financial oversight of a portfolio of GPB programs. The KCM will cultivate new business and nurture client relationships to grow existing business while building the case for program expansion and innovation. GPB programs are sophisticated and complex in terms of modes (virtual and immersive), focus areas (e.g. education, global health, job creation, environment, etc.), deliverables, stakeholders, impact, and more.  In most cases, the Key Client Manager will be responsible for managing the relationship of two to three PYXERA Global corporate clients and will oversee the work of a team of program managers, program coordinators and consultants. Additionally, the KCM will also supervise and mentor 2-3 PYXERA Global staff within the GPB department, support PYXERA Global’s overall business development efforts as well as internal strategic initiatives.

The GPB department operates in a fast-paced, agile environment with quickly shifting priorities. As such, the ideal candidate will have significant experience in program, client, and people management, be able to work across departments/teams, as well as experience with corporate social responsibility initiatives and/or mutually beneficial partnerships between the private and social sectors. Strong leadership, cross-cultural communications, and writing and presentation skills, combined with the ability to troubleshoot, innovate, and influence partners are a must for this position.

KEY POSITION RESPONSIBILITES

The Senior Account Manager (Key Client Manager-KCM) is responsible for managing all client responsibilities within PYXERA Global’s GPB practice area. Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Lead GPB program advising, design, implementation, process and service improvements;
  • Lead weekly/bi-weekly check-ins with clients and program coordinating team to align on project status, operations, logistics, strategy, and continual program improvements;
  • Update PYXERA Global executive team with clients’ updates, needs and/or issues, and business development opportunities;
  • Cultivate business opportunities with new and existing clients by developing strategies and program models that are responsive to corporate and societal needs;
  • Manage contracts (design, negotiation & renewal), proposal development, invoicing, reporting, staffing, etc.;
  • Ensure financial and reporting compliance, including development and approval of program budgets with global and DC-office staff;
  • Review and approve work plans, required reports (program and financial), and key correspondence sent to clients/donors;
  • Capture and share success stories and lessons learned that strengthen PYXERA Global’s existing and planned programs with organizations, partners, and stakeholders through social media and other avenues;
  • Create compelling social media content reflective of impact stories and client program successes;
  • Support department onboarding by training staff on client-specific processes;
  • For small and new GPB programs, the KCM may need to implement and co-manage GPB projects with other project managers or program coordinators, including oversight of travel arrangements and logistical support, engagement and selection of local partner organization, detailed scope of work development, virtual pre-work facilitation, on-site team facilitation, travel to project sites, project preparation and implementation, and impact reporting;
  • Supervise and mentor 2-3 PYXERA Global staff members within the GPB department.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • U.S. Citizen or permanent U.S. employment authorization required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with a minimum of 10 years of experience and in-depth knowledge of at least one specific technical area related to PYXERA Global’s programs and services (pro bono, community development, corporate social impact, nonprofit management, enterprise development, social justice, leadership development, circular economy, education, skills gap, global health, etc.).
  • Demonstrated initiative, innovation, problem solving skills, and the ability to work independently, as a member of a team, and across teams to meet program and client needs.
  • At least 3 years of experience working with cross-cultural teams and/or skills-based volunteering programs.
  • Empathetic team player with experience managing and mentoring staff.
  • Exceptional customer service, sales, public speaking, meeting/event facilitation, and program/project management skills.
  • Knowledge of the factors driving corporate social impact initiatives and a high level of comfort communicating with corporate leaders across different business units.
  • Experience co-creating with, and providing feedback to, community-level stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage the entire program lifecycle and adjust approaches as needed.
  • Relevant international, private and/or social sector work experience.
  • Swift ability to learn policies, processes, and standard operating procedures.
  • Ability to create and foster partnerships among a variety of stakeholders in the public, private, and social sectors.
  • Experience in training and onboarding both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to prioritize and keep a positive outlook in the face of challenges.
  • Experience in impact measurement (PowerBI and Qualtrics), Salesforce, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint highly desired.
  • Strong writing and organizational skills, experience creating social media content, and attention to detail.
  • Able to travel internationally and/or domestically up to 20%-30% of the time.
  • Reside in the Washington, D.C. area (D.C., Maryland and Virginia) and commit to being in-person in our Washington, D.C. office at least twice a week.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Program Coordinator (PC) provides administrative and programmatic support for Global Pro Bono programs, and may support other programming throughout the organization. This position requires a strong focus on training, financial reporting, program reporting, managing virtual teams, country and topic-specific research, program planning, and program preparation tasks. Working closely with Program Managers, the PC will have the opportunity to build their program management skills through exposure to a variety of program implementation and operations activities. In addition to overall programmatic activities, the PC will also support internal improvement initiatives and may support coordination for specific client teams.

The GPB team operates in a fast-paced, agile environment with quickly shifting priorities. As such, the ideal candidate will demonstrate high levels of agility and comfort with ambiguity. The ideal candidate will also be able to multitask, take initiative in completing assignments, and provide high-quality program support with little oversight and close attention to detail. Priority skills include: the ability to communicate clearly and professionally (verbally and in writing), strong customer service skills, process-orientation, ability to organize logistics, and time management, all combined with high sense of flexibility. Strong writing and presentation skills, combined with the ability to be innovative, are also necessary for this position.

KEY POSITION RESPONSIBILITES

The Program Coordinator is responsible for supporting the implementation of PYXERA Global’s  programming, with a majority focus on GPB Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • If additional surge support is needed, manage program procurement processes, participant travel arrangements, and coordinate all logistics in collaboration with Program Managers.
  • Support in overseeing virtual programs and teams
  • Conduct budget, country, and local organization research for developing briefing materials and program preparation.
  • Assist in creating and facilitating training sessions for corporate teams.

William J. White Fellowship for Solvable Problems

The William J. White Fellowship for Solvable Problems is a six-month experiential learning program at PYXERA Global. The Fellowship aims to give students and graduates of community colleges and underserved areas exposure to careers in social impact on a global scale.

At PYXERA Global, we recognize that we have a significant role to play in creating access to circular economy and social impact spaces, and in ensuring that we are capturing talent that often goes unrecognized through the traditional hiring structures. One community college student or graduate will be awarded this Fellowship. To accelerate the Fellow’s learning, they will receive direct mentorship from staff and industry leadership.

William J. White, the namesake of this Fellowship and father of PYXERA Global CEO, Deirdre White, dedicated his career to public health. He was a life-long advocate for bringing diverse voices and perspectives to the table. Throughout his life, William J. White never failed to mentor others. His life embodied service through a career in public health, and through this Fellowship, we hope to continue his legacy for generations to come.

This is a full-time six-month position with a stipend.

Job Overview:

The inaugural William J. White Fellow will provide critical support and guidance to PYXERA Global’s inclusive circular economy positioning.  In this dual role, you will work closely with the VP of Strategic Initiatives helping to ensure that historically marginalized communities in the communities we are operating in have an active and authentic voice in the circular economy transition.

As a Fellow you will also work closely with the Public Affairs team to play a key role in shaping our social media strategy for our circular economy practice area and other PYXERA Global practice areas when needed. You will also be responsible for graphic design and presentation support.

Responsibilities: Inclusive Circular Economy

The inclusive circular economy component of this Fellowship will focus largely on community engagement and outreach, as well as some aspects of research and surveying.

  • Co-create & devise inclusive circular economy engagement plan for geographies where PYXERA Global is currently engaged
  • Identify key stakeholder opportunities & gaps in existing circular programming
  • Provide relevant & practical research on BIPOC and historically marginalized communities where we are operating including, but not limited to, culture, policy reform, and environmental justice
  • Design and administer surveys to get feedback from BIPOC and historically marginalized communities on PYXERA Global’s circular economy approach and materials

Responsibilities: Communications

The communications aspect of this Fellowship will focus largely on social media, as well as some aspects of graphic design, and article / press release writing.

Social Media

  • Develop and execute effective social media campaigns
  • Strategize, create, and approve content for publication
  • Work with the programs team to develop a social calendar
  • Create graphics for social content
  • Collaborate with press, influencers, customers, industry leaders, and bloggers

Graphics Design & Presentation Support

ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re looking for an independent, energetic go-getter to work with the Human Resources team. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide administrative support for Human Resources and Operations teams at PYXERA Global
  • Assist with health and welfare programs including enrollments, changes, and terminations. Along with facilitation of information with insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductions are being communicated within internal systems
  • Conducts regular audits of benefits or other HR programs and systems
  • Provides finance/payroll team with new employee information along with changes each payroll cycle semimonthly

POSITION DESCRIPTION

PYXERA Global seeks a Private Sector Development Consultant to help coordinate various activities designed to build an effective ecosystem for innovative entrepreneurship in Belarus. The Consultant will establish and support direct dialogue with local partners and innovation practitioners, and stakeholders across Belarus.

This consultancy is full-time and based in Minsk, Belarus. The Consultant will report to a representative of PYXERA Global. The anticipated initial consulting period is May 31 through December 31, 2021, though based on needs and Consultant performance, the consulting period may be extended.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Private Sector Development Consultant will help generate creative solutions to complex challenges, shape strategies, and assist in planning and implementation. The Consultant is responsible for establishing and maintaining direct dialogue with the local private sector community in the innovative sector and collecting actionable insights to guide the PYXERA Global team to better understand how to support entrepreneur development, venture financing development, and improvement of the business enabling environment. The Consultant will:

  • Work with the PYXERA Global team to engage with thought leaders to set stakeholder-specific priorities, define local innovation ecosystem goals and objectives, and build coalitions and consensus among private sector institutions and individuals.
  • Help to tailor capacity-building efforts, identify emerging trends, explore viable opportunities, introduce best practices in innovative ecosystem development, and expand the connections between the Belarusian innovation community and global clients and partners.
  • Help to establish suitable collaboration platforms for key ecosystem actors, conduct or coordinate interviews and focus group sessions with decision-makers and influencers, and assist with the design and implementation of innovation forums and grant programs.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Assist the PYXERA Global team in carrying out identified activities.
  • Work with local leaders in Belarus’s innovation ecosystem to define specific development priorities.
  • Analyze existing initiatives and their impact on innovation-based entrepreneurship.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

PYXERA Global is seeking a talented Chief of Party to lead the anticipated USAID-funded Serbia SME Development Assistance Activity. The program’s focus will be on integrating Serbian small- and medium-sized enterprises (SME) into value-added value chains and developed markets by bolstering SMEs’ productivity, expanding exports, and promoting the utilization of innovative financing instruments.​

The Chief of Party will be responsible for the overall management of the program and requires demonstrated technical expertise, excellent communication ability, and agile leadership in navigating a complex and dynamic sociopolitical environment through all stages of the program pipeline—from designing sustainable, multi-sectoral strategy to managing implementation to monitoring and evaluating outcomes for quality and compliance. The position is based in Belgrade, Serbia.

KEY POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead program strategy, administration, operations, implementation, and fiscal management to ensure quality, alignment with budget allocations, compliance with USAID standards and stakeholder expectations, and sustainability;
  • Provide technical leadership to develop and implement a holistic and integrated program in partnership with private sector partners, government authorities, and other stakeholders;
  • Oversee the timely development and implementation of high-quality strategic plans, quarterly and annual operating plans detailing program workstreams and performance milestones, and all other technical and financial deliverables and reports in line with USAID guidelines and stakeholder requirements;
  • Collaboratively develop monitoring and evaluation mechanisms through an adaptive management approach including program management tools, efficient systems to ensure effective implementation, and regular communication of program results and impact;
  • Represent PYXERA Global by engaging and maintaining productive relationships with USAID; Serbian government counterparts; other international organizations; country office staff; and academic, business, and community partners to achieve program goals and objectives;
  • Lead the program’s technical team and manage local and remote teams of long- and short-term expert and support staff;

KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Advanced degree in Economics/Finance, Business Administration, International Development, or a related field;
  • A minimum of 10 years experience designing, leading, and implementing complex international development projects, particularly those focused on enterprise development, entrepreneurship, competitiveness, market systems, and value-added value chain strengthening, private sector engagement, innovation, or investment and access to finance;
  • 5 years experience successfully managing, in a Chief of Party, or similar position, for USAID or other donor-supported development programs of comparable size, scope, and complexity;
  • In-depth knowledge of USAID standards and processes, including the Collaboration, Learning, and Adaptation (CLA) approach;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to lead and work effectively within teams;
  • Commitment to diversity, inclusion, and sustainability that encourages a work culture of mutual respect, the full participation of team members regardless of gender, disability, race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, or gender identity, and a focus on delivering excellence;
  • Experience working in Serbia or Eastern Europe with private sector stakeholders, local and national government officials, and international donors;
  • Oral and written fluency in English;
  • Professional working proficiency in Serbian preferred.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

PYXERA Global is seeking a Deputy Chief of Party (DCoP) to support the Chief of Party (CoP) in leading and managing an anticipated USAID-funded SME Development Assistance Activity based in Serbia. The Activity will focus on integrating Serbian small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) into value-added value chains and developed markets by bolstering productivity, expanding exports, and promoting the utilization of innovative financing instruments.

The DCoP must have demonstrated expertise in economic growth and development, proven ability in effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders while ensuring compatibility with the strategic objectives at all stages of the project lifecycle—including facilitating the design of a sustainable and robust strategy, managing the Activity’s day-to-day implementation, and assessing outcomes for quality and compliance. The DCoP will support overall leadership management and will provide general technical direction for the Activity in conjunction with partner individuals, organizations, and technical experts to guide quality integration, coordination, innovation, and impact across all Activity operation lines. The DCoP will directly oversee field-level programming, ensuring the Activity’s aims are achieved. In the absence of the CoP, the DCoP will assume responsibility for award management; implementation; communication with USAID, Serbia, and international grant partners; and inquiry response. The position will be based in Belgrade, Serbia.

KEY POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support and troubleshoot Activity planning, strategy, implementation, and administration; operations development and management; and budget development and fiscal management processes to ensure quality, alignment with budget allocations, compliance with USAID standards and stakeholder expectations (including key risk identification, risk mitigation, and compliance with transparency and due diligence requirements), and sustainability;
  • Manage local and remote teams of long- and short-term expert and support staff—directly supervising senior technical and field staff and coordinating overall workflow and human resources protocols—to ensure effective delivery of capacity building programming;
  • Represent PYXERA Global by coordinating the Activity’s implementation remotely and in-person with USAID officials; government authorities; country office staff; and academic, business, and community implementing partners and development stakeholders to achieve the Activity’s goals and objectives;
  • Direct technical assistance efforts as determined by the CoP;
  • Oversee the timely development and implementation of high-quality reporting plans and requirements on quarterly and annual bases in line with USAID guidelines and stakeholder requirements;
  • Assist in the development of monitoring and evaluation mechanisms, program and project management tools, and efficient systems to ensure effective implementation and regular communication of Activity results;
  • Promote and uphold a diverse and inclusive working environment conducive to safety, non-discrimination, open and equitable and discussion, gender integration, and the advancement of minority and human rights;
  • All other duties, as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, International Development, or related field;
  • A minimum of eight (8) years experience leading or supporting the design and implementation of complex international development programs;
  • Demonstrated expertise in economic growth, private sector development, SME development, access to finance, corporate governance, or related area;
  • Experience successfully managing or supporting programs of comparable size, scope, and complexity, in a Deputy Chief of Party or similar position, for USAID or other donor-supported development programs;
  • In-depth understanding of USAID standards and processes, including the Collaboration, Learning, and Adaptation (CLA) approach;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to lead and work effectively within cross-cultural teams;

The program’s focus will be on integrating Serbian small- and medium-sized enterprises (SME) into value-added value chains and developed markets by bolstering SMEs’ productivity, expanding exports, and promoting the utilization of innovative financing instruments.​

Technical experts will reside in and around Belgrade, Serbia, and have strong records of demonstrated expertise in one or multiple subject matter areas listed below.

KEY POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Career opportunities for technical experts include positions in the following subject matter areas:

  • Access to Finance: Promoting access to finance for SMEs through investment facilitation, private sector engagement, financial product and service diversification, trust and awareness building, market linkage building, and other innovative means;
  • Capacity Building: Strengthening the capacity of SMEs to access finance, reduce production costs, adopt management best practices for boosting efficiency and productivity, improve technology and digitalization, diversify product and service lines, enhance consumer bases and market linkages, comply with international supplier and trade standards, encourage “green” production, increase innovation through cross-sector cooperation, and continuously educate and train employees;
  • Human Capital/Workforce Development: Facilitating economic empowerment and sustainable private sector growth, especially among women- and youth-owned SMEs, through workforce development and job creation.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS

REQUIRED:

Each technical expert position has its own technical and operational scope but all technical experts are required to meet the following minimum qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in a field related to the specific technical subject matter area;
  • Substantial experience in the related technical subject matter area, particularly within the private sector;
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate high-value partnerships with communities and public- and private-sector stakeholders;
  • Excellent oral and written communications and interpersonal skills—including the proven ability to lead and work effectively and collaboratively within cross-cultural teams;
