Washington D.C. - HQ Positions

PYXERA Global seeks a highly motivated candidate to work 20-40 hours per week as an intern at our headquarters in Washington, DC. The Program Intern will work with PYXERA Global’s Enterprise and Community Development (ECD) Division, which collaborates with diverse partners to build resilient business and entrepreneurial ecosystems through community driven solutions. The intern will provide support for multiple programs, including Integrated Community Development programs in India, Nigeria, Ghana, and Ethiopia. This is an excellent opportunity for those who wish to gain exposure to several different programs and work at an international NGO with a focus on global engagement.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in a fast-paced office environment, especially in a programmatic or administrative capacity. The intern must be detail-oriented, able to multi-task, and have strong data management and quantitative reasoning skills. Candidates with additional research experience and strong written communication skills are also desirable. Preferred candidates will be able to continue through Spring 2020.

KEY POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Program Intern will be responsible for supporting the implementation of PYXERA Global’s programs with oversight from Program Coordinators. Key responsibilities and level of effort include:

Analysis and Reporting – 40%

  • Monitor database management efforts, compile and verify historical program data
  • Create visuals with Excel and other data visualization platforms
  • Edit seasonal and annual reports for various programs
  • Conduct relevant contextual research as needed

Finance – 30%

  • Prepare and process relevant accounting forms such as invoices, wire transfer requests, expense reimbursements, and complete credit card reconciliations in a timely manner
  • Prepare and process relevant procurement documents including selection memos, contracts, modifications, and purchase orders

Business Development – 10%

  • Conduct research, both technical and financial, for business development opportunities in various regions and practice areas
  • Assist with proposal review and delivery
  • Support overall business development processes

Communications – 10%

  • Liaise with field staff and Program Coordinators to develop case studies and success stories

Miscellaneous – 10%

KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

KEY POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Outreach & Event Coordination
· Assist in external event logistics management, including primary support and coordination for our bi-annually hosted Forum.
· Support the promotion of PYXERA Global initiatives and practice areas through press releases, and other promotional materials.
· Actively research public speaking and editorial/blog opportunities for PYXERA Global and takes the required steps needed to inquire about the opportunities and build a relationship with the media contact.

KEY POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

The intern is responsible for supporting the implementation and monitoring of a number of program activities. S/he is also responsible for assisting in business development activities, including monitoring opportunities across donor/client organizations, proposal preparation, attending events, and conducting research. POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Program Associate (PA) provides logistical, administrative, and programmatic support in the Global Pro Bono (GPB) Department. This is an entry-level position that requires a strong focus on logistics, travel arrangements, financial reporting, and country and topic-specific research. The position will provide the PA with the opportunity to build their program management skills through exposure to a variety of program and operational activities related to the GPB department. In addition to programmatic activities, the PA will also support internal improvement initiatives and may also provide client coordination support in client management teams.

The GPB department operates in a fast-paced, agile environment with quickly shifting priorities. As such, the ideal candidate will demonstrate high levels of agility and comfort with ambiguity. The ideal candidate will also be able to multitask, take initiative in completing assignments, and provide high-quality logistical support with little oversight. Priority skills include strong attention to detail, ability to communicate clearly and professionally (orally and in writing), process-orientation, ability to organize logistics, and time management, all combined with the ability to be flexible.

KEY POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

The Program Associate is responsible for supporting the implementation of PYXERA Global’s GPB practice area programming. Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Make travel arrangements and coordinate program logistics in collaboration with Program Managers.
  • Conduct budget and country research for developing briefing materials for potential new programs and business opportunities.
  • Assist in creating and facilitating training sessions for corporate client teams.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator will support the monitoring, evaluation, analytical, and knowledge management needs of our growing Global Pro Bono division to ensure quality and effectiveness of program implementation. On-the-job training will be provided, and opportunities for professional development and learning are available.

As Such the Coordinator will:
  • Provide assistance to program staff to develop performance monitoring plans and results frameworks during program design and implementation;
  • Create monitoring, evaluation, and learning systems, processes, and tools;
  • Contribute to measuring, analyzing, and reporting results; and
  • Support the staff in project management and budgeting of deliverables.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Supporting staff members in setting up logical frameworks and stakeholder assessments

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

PYXERA Global (www.PYXERAGlobal.org), an NGO based in Washington, DC, will be managing a Global Pro Bono program in Tunis, Tunisia scheduled to take place from February 1st – February 29, 2020. PYXERA Global would like to hire a part-time local consultant currently residing in Tunis to provide project management and logistical support to the selected team of 12 corporate employees who will provide pro-bono consulting services to local non-profits and social enterprises in Tunis.

The selected consultant’s main responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to, the following.

PROJECT DEVELOPMENT & IMPLEMENTATION

  • • Identify and select potential clients and help to develop scopes of work (SOWs) reflecting the specific areas of intervention requested by local host organizations (mostly nonprofits, community development social enterprises, and government entities)

PYXERA Global, a non-profit based in Washington, D.C., will be implementing a Global Pro Bono program in Buenos Aires, Argentina with Johnson & Johnson. The program is scheduled to take place during the month of October (4 weeks), and PYXERA Global is seeking university students, recent graduates, or professional translators currently residing in Buenos Aires city to provide interpretation/program support services for the team of international corporate volunteers staying in Buenos Aires.

The main responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to, the following:

ACTIVITIES

• Sequential Interpretation or written translation during the program (Sept 30th -Oct 24th) during 8 regular working hours from Monday to Friday (set by each office and team).
• Conduct country specific research as needed to support the consultants.
• Coordination of program activities with PYXERA Global Staff, both local and HQ.
• Act as a cultural ambassador to a team of three (3) J&J employees from different countries for the duration of the assignment.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to work with cross-cultural teams
• Native Spanish speaker, with excellent English speaking and writing skills
• Ability to quickly translate from Spanish to English, and English to Spanish
• Strong organizational, facilitation, and communication skills
• Reliability and time-flexibility
• Currently pursuing or recently completed a university degree (Preferably in International Studies, Business, Journalism, Communications, Languages, and Corporate Social Responsibility)
• Interest in local and global issues related to Health
• Professional language translation experience preferred but not required
