SUMMARY

PYXERA Global is seeking an attentive, organized, and motivated Communications and Marketing Intern to work 40 hours per week in our Washington, DC office. This intern will gain experience in design, marketing, and global programming alongside the personable and knowledgeable Public Affairs & Programs teams. The intern will support in the development of communications materials and multimedia products that are attractive, consistent, well written, and propel interest and action. The opportunity will build his or her marketing and communications skills through hands on experience with many different areas of the organization. The ideal candidate is a media and digital enthusiast, with exceptional writing and design skills, a strong interest and background in impact communications, and demonstrated curiosity and/or experience in international affairs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Duties include, but may not be limited to, the following:

JOB SUMMARY

The Database Administrator will manage PYXERA Global’s database, implemented on the Salesforce.com platform. The database is used for business development, CRM and project management. He/she will act as a system manager, administering a Governance framework, facilitating user experience, implementing best practices and training staff to use the system. This position will be a resource for staff, troubleshooting any arising issues, answering questions, running reports per data requests and making updates to the system. The Administrator will also carry out monthly data audits, to check that program staff makes required data inputs, and also ensure that the data is clean and de-duplicated.

MAJOR DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Salesforce database administration for 40+ users;
  • Performing database maintenance and improvements;
  • Conducting training and developing/updating reference materials (such as how-to guides), and documentation (best practices/SOPs) on Salesforce use for new and current database users;
  • Informing users on new and existing features, providing Salesforce user tips for the Learning and Partnerships newsletter, and developing innovative ways to encourage and maintain adoption;
  • Serving as a support and go-to expert in house on any Salesforce-related issues;
  • Developing processes to monitor data quality and integrity: conducting data audits, requiring timely and quality inputs from program staff into the system, as well as performing data de-duping/cleaning
  • Creating custom objects, mapping, reports, dashboards, workflows, and other things as required by users;
  • Identifying opportunities for organization users to leverage the database to support additional business processes or functions;
  • Engaging key stakeholders in the needs assessment process and educating them on the Salesforce life cycle (needs assessment, feature identification, technical design, development, testing, training, deployment, and ongoing incremental improvements);
  • Evaluating new Salesforce releases to identify, which features are appropriate for PYXERA Global to opt-in, and developing a plan for their implementation/roll-out;
  • Ensuring the customizations that are being used by different operational teams or any future customizations are not negatively affected by any changes through planning, risk analysis, testing in Sandbox, and regular communication of issues and challenges with different stakeholders;
  • Identifying opportunities to integrate other IT applications that will maximize the use of Salesforce and streamline processes and procedures for users
  • Engaging with outside consultants to create customizations to or integrations with the database as needed;
  • Attending annual conferences or admin group events/seminars sponsored by Salesforce to remain up-to-date on their system and accompanying applications;
  • Staying up-to-date on the latest technology releases, applications, integrations, and opportunities;
  • Serving as a contact person from PYXERA Global for Salesforce Foundation;

PYXERA Global, an NGO based in Washington, DC will be managing a Global Pro Bono program in Bangkok, Thailand, scheduled to take place in May of 2017. PYXERA Global would like to hire a part time seasoned consultant currently residing in Bangkok, Thailand to help with program management and provide project and logistical support to the selected team of corporate employees that will work on health development projects. The consulting period will take place between January through June 2017 with a possibility of extension based on additional corporate programs.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Program Associate (PA) provides administrative and programmatic support for business development and program management activities in the Global Pro Bono Department. This position requires a strong focus on travel arrangements, logistics, financial reporting, and country and topic-specific research, as well as reporting. The position will provide the PA with the opportunity to build their program management skills through exposure to a variety of program and business development activities related to the Global Pro Bono department.

The ideal candidate will be able to multitask, take initiative in completing assignments as well as provide high quality program materials with little oversight. Strong writing and presentation skills, combined with the ability to be innovative and flexible are necessary for this position.

KEY POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

The Program Associate is responsible for supporting the implementation of PYXERA Global’s programming. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Arrange travel arrangements and coordinate meeting logistics for programs in collaboration with Program Managers.
  2. Conduct budget and country research for developing briefing materials for potential new programs and business opportunities.
  3. Assist in creating and facilitating training sessions for corporate teams.
  4. Create up-to-date country-specific briefing books and assist in drafting elements of program work plans, required reports (program and financial), and key correspondence sent to clients/donors.
  5. Prepare and process relevant accounting forms, assist in preparing budgets, and monitoring financial reports.
  6. Assist in editing and developing detailed scopes of work with local partner organizations.
  7. Process participant and local partner survey data, and synthesize this information into client-facing reports.
  8. Capture and share success stories and lessons learned that strengthen PYXERA Global’s existing and planned programs.

The Program Manager will be responsible for technical, financial and operational aspects of a complex agricultural project aimed at reducing post-harvest loss and improving food security. This position requires experience in design, management, and monitoring and evaluation of programs funded by private donors and international companies.

PYXERA Global seeks a highly motivated graduate intern to work 20-40 hours per week at our headquarters office in Washington, DC. This position offers interns the chance to experience and work across multiple job functions on many different projects. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a fast-paced office environment, especially in a programmatic or administrative capacity. The intern must be detail-oriented, able to multi-task, and have strong written and communication skills.

PYXERA Global’s Enterprise and Community Development (ECD) Division catalyzes partnerships to achieve sustainable economic growth of local enterprises and communities. PYXERA Global is seeking a Program Intern with experience working on sustainable international development initiatives. The Program Intern will provide administrative and programmatic support for diverse global programs spanning the areas of Local Content Development in Mozambique and Ghana, Integrated Community Development in India, and Entrepreneurship, Enterprise, and Agricultural Development in Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Nigeria. The position will provide the Program Intern with the opportunity to build on a variety of skills through exposure to a variety of program and business development activities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Program Intern will be responsible for supporting the implementation of PYXERA Global’s programs with oversight from Program Coordinators. Key responsibilities and level of effort include:

Analysis and Reporting – 25%

  • Monitor database management efforts;
  • Edit monthly program reports for various projects;
  • Assist in the compilation of quarterly board books;

Business Development – 30%

  • Conduct research, both technical and financial, for business development opportunities in various regions and practice areas;
  • Assist with proposal review and delivery;
  • Support overall business development processes.

Communications – 20%

  • Liaise with field staff and Program Coordinators to develop case studies and success stories, as well as support department and project social media presence;
  • Monitor and update project pages on the PYXERA Global website.

Finance – 10%

  • Prepare and process relevant accounting forms such as invoices, wire transfer requests, expense reimbursements, and complete credit card reconciliations in a timely manner;
  • Prepare and process relevant procurement documents such as selection memos, contracts, modifications, and purchase orders.

Miscellaneous – 15%

  • Develop and maintain document management systems and Salesforce dashboards;
  • Monitor and update project pages on Sage (an internal knowledge management and learning platform);
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in international development, international affairs, economic development or related field required;
  • Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in related field preferred;
  • One to three years of relevant experience in international development/affairs related roles;
  • Familiarity with a variety of public and private sector donors;
  • Experience working in the non-profit sector and with cross-cultural teams;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Salesforce, and variety of social media platforms;
  • Flexible and able to work in a team as well as individually with limited supervision;
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a rapidly changing environment and for multiple managers;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Monitoring and evaluation and/or data analysis skills;
  • Overseas work experience desired; and
  • Availability to begin May 15th.

Preferred: Proficiency in Portuguese, Hindi, or Russian.
