How might we create telemedicine strategies to
better serve our communities?
The pandemic has quickly revealed how the absence of strong digital health systems severely limits the ability of Community Health Centers from serving their communities. Now more than ever before, we are relying on digital connectivity to function as an inclusive society. At this moment in our history, we have an opportunity to design an accessible digital health system to replace our antiquated approach.
Anchor Partners
National Association of Community
Health Centers (NACHC)
PYXERA Global is working in collaboration with NACHC on this national–level challenge. NACHC is the leading national advocacy organization supporting federally qualified community health centers and the expansion of healthcare access for the medically underserved and uninsured. In any given month, NACHC’s advocacy and policy decisions affect one-tenth of the population.
Iowa Primary Care Association
(Iowa PCA)
Anchoring the second challenge, Iowa PCA is a trusted voice in healthcare among vulnerable populations. The organization supports health centers across the state, working with centers that serve more than 216,000 Iowans each year. This project will serve as a test case to develop a model for other states across the country. Impacts here will have a ripple effect with countrywide implications.
"At SAP, we strive every day to help the world run better and improve people’s lives. In the face of the current global pandemic that has exposed many vulnerabilities in our systems, it is imperative that we leverage multi-sector partnerships to create stronger, more resilient health systems. This will not only connect our employees to SAP’s purpose—it will ensure that we can serve the communities that need care."
— HEMANG DESAI
Global Program Director, SAP Social, SAP
“In the face of a global pandemic, it’s especially important that we creatively build partnerships that deepen and extend our collective impact. The Reimagine Series is a terrific example of how partnerships can lead to meaningful change. Medtronic employees are creating sustainable telehealth solutions for community health centers that will directly affect underserved patients’ access to care.”
— PAURVI BHATT
President, Medtronic Foundation
“As the voice for Community Health Centers for nearly 50 years, NACHC continuously adapts to provide robust training and technical assistance, working in partnership with vendors and industry leaders to ensure health centers are resilient and strong. This extraordinary moment in telehealth medicine presents NACHC with the chance to work through a challenge model that PYXERA Global offers and we saw it as a moment we could not pass up.”
— JASON PATNOSH
Associate Vice President, Partnership and Resource Development, National Association of Community Health Centers
“It's not the platform that is of preeminent importance, but what we’re trying to accomplish as a network. Our network’s vision is health equity for all, and this opportunity will ensure the steps we take to further embrace telehealth are prioritized to improve access and quality of healthcare services for all Iowans.”
— AARON TODD
CEO, Iowa Primary Care Association

Winners have been announced!
After an intense month of cross-company virtual collaboration, each team submitted their solution to a panel
of eight judges. The solutions were evaluated on Innovation, Social Impact, Sustainability, Desirability, Feasibility,
and Viability. Although it was a difficult decision to make with each team’s score very close, we have two winners!
One of the judges, Ms. Tiffany Aquino from Medtronic, said in the closing session: “I was so impressed with how much was covered and well thought out within the time allotted. I hope the teams take away a new perspective on rapid innovation and are proud of contributing ideas and tools that are meaningful!”
On October 15, we hosted a lively discussion on the immediate outcomes of the Reimagining Community Health Systems Challenge. We discussed how companies and leading community health organizations are partnering to address health challenges exacerbated by COVID-19.
