Kristine Owiny is the Associate Director for Capacity Strengthening with Pyxera Global, where she oversees project delivery to ensure Pyxera Global’s projects meet partner needs. While at the organization, Kristine has supported a wide range of programming in client-facing and community-facing roles, including long-term community engagement projects and pro bono consulting initiatives.

Before joining Pyxera Global, Kristine worked in Uganda for close to a decade, most recently as Programs Lead at The Innovation Village, Uganda’s startup engine, supporting programming for entrepreneurs and MSMEs as well as within the education ecosystem where she served as a Country Director of Elevate: Partners for Education for nearly five years. She began her career in Los Angeles teaching high school history and ethics and serving as a Director of Community Service.

Kristine received an M.A. in Global Development and Social Justice from St. John’s University and an M.A. in Secondary Education from Loyola Marymount University. She received a B.A. in History from the College of the Holy Cross.
